Chlorindanol (7-Chloro-4-indanol) is a topical antiseptic or sanitizer. It is rapidly lethal in vitro to vegetative bacteria, Trichophyton sp., C. albicans, E. histolytica cysts and trophozoites, T. vaginalis, and spermatozoa. Chlorindanol has low systemic toxicity, good skin/eyes/genital mucosa tolerance, and is nonallergenic.
