Column, Chromatography, 45/50 Outer Rodaviss Joint, 2 1/2in ID X 24in E.L., 4mm Stopcock. General purpose column having a PTFE stopcock and a top Rodaviss outer joint. Can be used as a gravity eluted column or a flash column (as described by W.C. Still, M. Kahn and A. Mitra of Columbia University in JOURNAL OF ORGANIC CHEMISTRY 43, 2923 [1978], and covered in U.S. Patent Number 4,293,422 dated October 6, 1981) when used with optional CG-1195 flow controller and CG-1194 reservoir. Column is constructed using MEDIUM WALL TUBING. Glass wool (not supplied) is used to support column packing. Lower end of the column has a round bottom. Connections between the column, reservoir and flow control adapter are made using Rodaviss joints. The unique design of the Rodaviss joint affords a grease free seal while holding glassware together without clamps. Column is supplied complete with a CG-182 open top cap and o-ring.
