It inhibits the fimbriation of *Escherichia coli*, increases SOD activity, lowers blood lipids, and prevents experimental pyelonephritis. Clofibric acid also exhibits anticancer activity against ovarian cancer and is used in ovarian cancer, liver cancer, obesity, and urinary tract infection research. It is also a herbicide.
