Cytochalasin D, also known as Zygosporin A, is a potent, cell-permeable actin polymerization inhibitor derived from fungus. It functions by inhibiting the G-actin-cofilin interaction and the binding of cofilin to F-actin, which consequently decreases the rates of both actin polymerization and depolymerization in living cells.
- Potent actin polymerization inhibitor
- Cell-permeable activity
- Inhibits G-actin-cofilin interaction
- Decreases actin polymerization and depolymerization rates
- Reduces exosome release and survivin in tumor environment
- Induces phosphorylation and cytoplasmic retention of Yap
- Causes retraction and arborization of COS-7 cells
- Disrupts stress fibers in NIH3T3 cells
