Diazinon is an orally active, irreversible AChE inhibitor and insecticide that can be absorbed through the digestive system, skin, or respiratory tract. It inhibits AChE, leading to the accumulation of acetylcholine, which overstimulates ACh receptors and affects the nervous system. Diazinon also produces reactive oxygen species (ROS), inducing oxidative stress in various tissues. It is mainly used in agriculture as an insecticide and may affect human and animal health.
