Enoxaparin (PK 10169) is a low-molecular-weight heparin (LMWH) derivative that acts as an anticoagulant by inhibiting factor Xa and thrombin IIa through antithrombin III. It also demonstrates antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, protecting the rat hippocampus against traumatic brain injury (TBI). Enoxaparin is utilized in research for deep vein thrombosis (DVT), pulmonary embolism, TBI, and COVID-19.
