Gambogic Acid is a natural product isolated from Garcinia Hurburyi. It induces apoptosis in several tumor cell lines including T47D breast cancer cells and MGC-803 human gastric carcinoma cells but not in normal cells. Apoptosis induction proceeds via upregulation of bax and inhibition of bcl-2 expression.The target of gambogic acid has been identified as the transferrin receptor. Purity: ≥95% (TLC).
