Glucagon is a peptide hormone secreted by the pancreas to increase blood glucose in response to low glucose levels in the blood. Works in opposition to insulin. May be used medically to combat hypoglycemia, beta blocker overdose, anaphylaxis, and with impacted food bolus to relax the lower esophageal sphincter. Acts as an agonist for GCGR. Provided as 1 mg of dry powder. These highly purified, pre-validated control ligands have been used to qualify our InCELL Hunter, PathHunter and cAMP Hunter cell lines as well as our Assay Ready Kits.
