H-b-Cyclopropyl-Ala-OH, 102735-53-5, C6H11NO2, Mr 129.16, 5g. b-Cyclopropylalanine has been isolated in 1986 from Amanita virgineoides Bas., and was shown to inhibit spore germination of Pyricularia oryzae Cav., the causative agent of rice blast disease. This unusual amino acid was found to be a potent antagonist to E.coli ATCC 9723.
