HDAC8-IN-1 is a highly selective inhibitor of Histone Deacetylase 8 (HDAC8) with an IC50 of 27.2 nM. It demonstrates antiproliferative effects in human lung cancer cell lines such as A549, H1299, and CL1-5, and exhibits cytotoxicity against human lung CL1-5 cells without significant cytotoxicity towards normal IMR-90 cells. This compound has also been observed to slightly reverse IL-4-induced Foxp3 repression, acting similarly to a class I HDAC inhibitor.
