Latanoprost acid is an analog of prostaglandin (PG) F2α and a selective prostanoid receptor (FP) agonist that activates the FP-PG receptor. It inhibits RANKL-induced osteoclastogenesis and function by inhibiting the ERK, AKT, JNK, and p38 cascade, following the c-fos/NFATc1 pathway. This medication is used to lower pressure inside the eyes and is for research use only.
