Methyl p-coumarate (Methyl 4-hydroxycinnamate) is an orally active esterified derivative of p-Coumaric acid (pCA) that can be isolated from the flower of *Trixis michuacana var longifolia*. It has been shown to inhibit melanin formation in B16 mouse melanoma cells and exhibits a strong *in vitro* inhibitory effect on *A. alternata* and other pathogens.
