MONIRO-1 is a T-type and N-type calcium channel blocker suitable for research into pain and epilepsy. It inhibits Ca2+ responses elicited by KCl-mediated depolarization with an IC50 of 124 μM. The compound is more potent against T-type calcium channels (Cav3.1, Cav3.2, and Cav3.3) than N-type (Cav2.2) and L-type channels.

  • Exhibits IC50 values of 34, 3.3, 1.7, and 7.2 μM against hCav2.2, hCav3.1, hCav3.2, and hCav3.3
  • Shows low activity against L-type calcium channels

  • Inhibits Ca2+ responses elicited by KCl-mediated depolarization (IC50 of 124 μM)
  • 5-100 times more potent against T-type calcium channels than N-type and L-type channels
  • No inhibition of P/Q (Cav2.1) or R-type currents (Cav2.3) observed at concentrations up to 100 μM
