NucView Caspase-3 Substrates are novel fluorogenic substrates for real-time or endpoint detection of apoptosis in live cells. The non-toxic, no-wash substrates do not inhibit caspase-3 unlike other caspase substrates or FLICA assays permitting multiday analysis. Consisting of a high-affinity DNA dye linked to a DEVD caspase-3 substrate moiety, the cell permeable non-fluorescent substrate is cleaved by caspase-3 in apoptotic cells to emit fluorescence, allowing detection of both caspase-3 activity and apopototic nuclear morphology. Suitable for flow cytometry, fluorescence microscopy, or live cell imaging systems, staining is compatible with fixation and permeabilization for immunostaining. NucView 488 is validated in over 100 cell types and 200 publications. Available with blue (NucView 405), green (NucView 488), or red (NucView 530) fluorescence, in DMSO or PBS for DMSO-sensitive cells, and as kits with apoptosis or necrosis probes. NucView technology is covered by U.S. patents.
