Pentadecylic acid is a saturated fatty acid with a 15-carbon backbone. It induces apoptosis in MCF-7/SC breast cancer stem-like cells by inhibiting the JAK2/STAT3 signaling pathway and suppresses their proliferation and migration. Pentadecanoic acid also induces mild glucose intolerance during pregnancy in C57BL6/J mice, partly mediated through activation of PPARα and MAPK signaling pathways, and promotes offspring growth and enhanced antioxidant capacity during lactation.
