Toltrazuril sulfone (Ponazuril) is an antiprotozoal metabolite of Toltrazuril. It is a triazine anticoccidial developed to prevent coccidiosis in poultry.

  • Inhibits the development of merozoites of *S. neurona*.
  • Inhibits the development of *N. caninum* after approximately 48 hours post-exposure.
  • May exhibit inhibitory effects by targeting different enzyme/enzyme systems in various apicomplexans.
  • Inhibits *T. gondii* replication after the second division by endodyogeny at a concentration of 5 mg/ml for 20 hours.
  • Effective in preventing and treating toxoplasmosis in female CD-1 mice at 10-20 mg/kg daily for 10 days.
