Inhibit LCK, FYN, HCK, and SRC with PP1 (Hanke et al. J Biol Chem, 1996). This reversible inhibitor of the SRC family of tyrosine kinases regulates a variety of cellular processes, such as apoptosis and migration. It is used in cancer research to induce apoptosis in non-small cell lung cancer cell lines (Zhang et al. Am J Pathol, 2007) and block TGF-β-mediated migration of primary non-small cell lung carcinoma cells and pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma cell lines (Bartscht et al. Cancer Chemother Pharmacol, 2012). PP1 is also used to reprogram mouse embryonic fibroblasts to induced pluripotent stem cells in the absence of reprogramming factor SOX2 (Staerk et al.
