Pseudolaric Acid B is an orally active diterpene acid with anti-fungal, anti-fertility, anti-angiogenesis, and anticancer activities. It can induce tumor cell apoptosis and autophagy. Additionally, it inhibits the secretion of hepatitis B virus (HBV) and has an immunosuppressive effect, selectively inhibiting the proliferation of T lymphocytes and the production of IL-2.

  • Activates autophagy in MCF-7 human breast cancer cells to prevent cell death.
  • Inhibits the secretion of hepatitis B virus (HBV) by inducing apoptosis and cell cycle arrest.
  • Inhibits the proliferation, migration, and tube formation of HUVEC, and reduces VEGF secretion by tumor cells, linked to proteasome-mediated HIF-1α protein degradation.
  • Has anti-fertility ability in rats, possibly related to the maternal vascular system.
