Senicapoc (ICA-17043) is a potent and selective Gardos channel (Ca2+-activated K+ channel; KCa3.1) blocker. It blocks Ca2+-induced rubidium flux from human RBCs and inhibits RBC dehydration. It has been shown to decrease Gardos channel activity and increase red cell K+ content in vivo. It also reduces airway hyperresponsiveness and vascular remodelling in certain models.
