SI-2 hydrochloride is the hydrochloride salt of a small-molecule SRC-3 protein-protein interaction inhibitor. It selectively reduces SRC-3 transcriptional activity and protein levels, induces breast cancer cell death at low nanomolar IC50 (3-20 nM), and has demonstrated tumor growth inhibition in MDA-MB-468 mouse models with improved toxicity and pharmacokinetic properties and acceptable oral availability.
