Sobetirome (GC-1) is a thyroid hormone receptor β (TRβ)-specific agonist. It selectively binds to TRβ-1 with an EC50 of 0.16 μM and is also a liver uptake-selective agonist. This product is intended for research use only.

- Increases hepatic HDL receptors and stimulates bile acid synthesis in hypercholesterolemic mice.
- Treatment with 10x Sobetirome results in a fat mass gain of only 21% (1.7 g).
- Treatment with 20x Sobetirome induces a decrease in fat mass of 20% (1.3 g).
