Mouse interleukin-1beta (IL-1beta), also known as IL-1F2, is a 30.6 kDa pro-inflammatory cytokine that is produced by activated macrophages. IL-1beta stimulates thymocyte proliferation by inducing IL-2 release, B-cell maturation and proliferation, and fibroblast growth factor activity. It is involved in a number of biological activities ranging from aging to wound healing. IL-1beta is a pyrogenic cytokine that induces the production of prostaglandins, the major mediators of fever induction. The Mouse IL-1beta Kit provides assay-specific components for the quantitative determination of endogenous IL-1beta in mouse urine, serum, plasma, and cell culture supernatants.
