The XP Up Screen Crystallization Screen is uniquely optimized for exploring protein crystallization with high concentrations of the Anderson-Evans polyoxotungstate (TEW), specifically up to 10 mM. This screen provides 96 prominent crystallization conditions, each containing 1.7 ml of solution, offering significant flexibility for optimizing challenging targets. TEW is a powerful additive known to promote crystal contacts, improve crystal quality, and provide a valuable anomalous signal for phasing due to its six tungsten atoms. Experiments have shown that higher TEW concentrations (5-10 mM) can significantly increase crystallizability. For maximum flexibility, TEW is supplied in a separate tube, allowing users to add it to the protein droplet at their desired final concentration. Each kit includes 5 mg TEW (X-TEW-5) for preparing a 100 mM stock solution. Ship at ambient temperature, store at 8-10°C, with a 12-month shelf life.
