YM-244769 is a potent, selective, orally active inhibitor of the sodium-calcium exchanger (NCX) with preferential activity toward the NCX3 isoform. It suppresses NCX-mediated Ca2+ entry and has been used in cellular and in vivo studies demonstrating neuroprotective effects and effects on urine volume and electrolyte excretion in mice.
