(E,E)-4,8,12-Trimethyl-1,3,7,11-tridecatetraene (TMTT) is a sesquiterpene and a major herbivore-induced plant volatile. It functions in plant defense by acting as a repellent and by recruiting the natural enemies of insects. TMTT has been shown to attract Asian corn borer (ACB, Ostrinia furnacalis) larvae, and its external supplementation can hinder the larvae's ability to locate pre-infested maize.
