Endogenous cannabinoid agonist isolated from porcine brain. Binds specifically to CB1 (Ki=21.2nM) and CB2 (Ki=>3µM) receptors. Causes sedation hypothermia, intestinal immobility and mild antinociception in mice. Chemically stable, but less potent than 2-arachidonoylglycerol (BML-FA028) with an endogenous half-life time of hours rather than minutes. Alternative name: 2-Arachidonyl glyceryl ether, 2-AG ether, 5Z,8Z,11Z,14Z-Eicosatetraen-2-glyceryl ether. Purity: ≥98% (TLC). Solubility: Soluble in DMSO (40mg/ml) or ethanol (25mg/ml). Long Term Storage: -20°C.
2-Arachidonylglycerol is an endocannabinoid ester formed by arachidonic acid and glycerol that is expressed in the CNS at much higher levels than anandamide. Has neuromodulatory effects, and is a potent agonist of the GPR55, CB1, and CB2 receptors (EC50=3, 519, and 618 nM, respectively). Provided as 10 mg of dry powder.
