Melatonin-d3 is a deuterium-labeled form of Melatonin, a hormone produced by the pineal gland. Melatonin activates melatonin receptors and is known for its role in sleep, as well as its significant antioxidative and anti-inflammatory properties. It has been identified as a novel selective ATF-6 inhibitor and can induce apoptosis in human hepatoma cells by downregulating COX-2. Additionally, Melatonin has been shown to attenuate palmitic acid-induced mouse granulosa cell apoptosis through endoplasmic reticulum stress.
