Aquabacterium commune Kalmbach et al. (ATCC BAA-209) is the type strain of Aquabacterium commune, isolated from biofilms on glass and polyethylene surfaces in household drinking water supply lines. Supplied as a freeze-dried research culture for microbiology and environmental biofilm studies, the strain is aerobic and typically cultured on low-nutrient R2A medium at room temperature.
