The Collagen Hybridizing Peptide (CHP) is a unique probe that specifically targets denatured collagen in vitro and in vivo. By mimicking collagen's Gly-X-Y sequence, it hybridizes with unfolded collagen chains to reform the triple helix. This mechanism provides exceptional specificity, with negligible binding to intact collagen and minimal non-specific interactions. Our in vivo sCy7.5-CHP features an advanced sequence that is ready for direct injection without requiring a heat-activation step. Labeled with a sulfonated-cyanine 7.5 dye for near-infrared fluorescence (NIRF) detection, sCy7.5-CHP is a powerful imaging tool. The NIRF wavelength allows for deep tissue penetration while minimizing autofluorescence. This enables sensitive, molecular-level detection and localization of tissue damage and remodeling from injury, inflammation, disease, development, and aging.

As a powerful histopathology tool, CHP enables straightforward detection of collagen degradation across a wide range of applications. It can be used to visualize tissue damage from inflammation, disease, or aging; track pericellular matrix turnover during cancer cell migration; measure molecular-level mechanical injury; assess collagen in decellularized matrices; and detect collagen bands on SDS-PAGE gels without Western blotting. R-CHP is labeled with sulfo-Cyanine3 for direct fluorescence detection.
