Plastic Tubing
Plastic tubing of various lengths and bores constructed of materials suitable for general laboratory, biopharmaceutical, food and beverage, medical, vacuum, low-pressure, high-pressure, cleanroom or environmental applications. Products may be chemical- or corrosion-resistant. Formulated for resistance to flex fatigue and abrasion, plastic tubing is more flexible and less permeable than rubber tubing.
How Is Plastic Tubing Used?
Flexible plastic tubing may be used as transfer lines for contamination fluid control, hydraulics, protective jacketing, vacuum pump and diaphragm pump feeds and discharges, refrigeration, water and fluid lines, food and beverage, instrumentation, research laboratories, agriculture, material handling, air and gas lines, chemical lines and pharmaceuticals.
Types of Plastic Tubing:
• PVC: lightweight and flexible, will retain its bore on bending and can be sterilized up to 121°C
• Silicone: ideal where a hard-wearing material is needed, including transfer of liquids or higher temperature environments
• LDPE: good for general low pressure and temperature, instrumentation, corrosive atmosphere, and food processing
• PTFE: has excellent chemical-resistant and temperature-resistant properties
• PE: flexible, lightweight, durable, and corrosion resistant, used for a wide range of liquid, gas, and fluid transfer applications
• FEP: clear, small-diameter tubing, the economical choice for chemical resistance and broad temperature exposure
• PEEK: high-performance polymer with mechanical and chemical resistance, and highly resistant to thermal degradation
AVANTOR MASTERFLEX (VWR LLC) Masterflex Transfer Tubing, PFA, 1/2"" ID x 5/8"" OD; 25 ft
Applications: Demanding lab, chemical, electrical, mechanical, pharmaceutical, and automotive applications. For the transfer of high-temperature or highly corrosive materials. Also good for high-purity work. Characteristics: Chemically inert, nontoxic, and virtually nonporous. Excellent crack- and stress-resistance. Low coefficient of friction. Translucent. Resin certification: Resin is FDA-compliant (21 CFR 177.1550); meets USP Class VI requirements. Tubing is manufactured according to GMP. Temperature range: -320 to 500¿F (-195 to 260¿C) Sterilize: Autoclave, ethylene oxide, or use dry heat.
Cole-Parmer TPV Pharma Grade Tubing, 1/4" ID x 3/8" OD; 50 Ft
Use the biocompatible TPV tubing for peristaltic pumping, filling, and fluid transfer applications. This flexible opaque tubing offers excellent pump performance while providing great chemical resistance, making it a great alternative to silicone tubing.
TPV tubing does not contain BPA, phthalates, PVC, or peroxide that can leach out into the fluid, making it perfect for pharmaceutical, laboratory, and diagnostic applications. For an added level of particle control, a liner is placed between the tubing package and the box.

Applications: Pharmaceutical, biotechnology, food and beverage, aerospace, and general lab applications. Characteristics: Peroxide-cured, excellent heat resistance, low compression set, odorless, nontoxic, translucent. Certification: Elastomer is FDA-compliant (21 CFR 177.2600) and meets USP Class VI requirements. Tubing is manufactured according to GMP. Temperature range: -60 to 460¿F (-51 to 238¿C) Sterilize: Autoclave or gamma irradiation.
