Sep-Pak Alumina N Vac cartridges contain a highly active grade of alumina with a neutral surface chemistry. The aluminum oxide surface provides an extremely polar surface for analyte retention and has properties of a Lewis acid. This normal phase sorbent is similar in use to silica; however, it is slightly more stable than unfunctionalized silica under high pH conditions. This neutral alumina is suitable for applications such as synthetic crude oil fractionation. These syringe-barrel-type cartridges are designed for use with vacuum manifolds and automated SPE instruments.

Sep-Pak Alumina B Vac cartridges contain a highly active grade of alumina with a basic surface chemistry. The aluminum oxide surface provides an extremely polar surface for analyte retention and has properties of a Lewis acid. This normal phase sorbent is similar in use to silica; however, it is slightly more stable than unfunctionalized silica under high pH conditions. This basic alumina is also low-capacity ion exchanger in aqueous media. Sep-Pak Alumina B Vac cartridges can be used to extract phospholipids, steroids, and catecholamines. Since Sep-Pak Alumina B is unaffected by high-energy radioactivity, these cartridges can be used for radioactive compound isolation. These syringe-barrel-type cartridges are designed for use with vacuum manifolds and automated SPE instruments.

Silica-based bonded phase with moderate hydrophobicity; use for methods requiring less retention than C18; typical applications include drugs and their metabolites in serum, plasma or urine, peptides in serum, plasma.

Sep-Pak Accell Plus QMA Vac cartridges contain a silica-based, hydrophilic, strong anion-exchanger with large pore size (300Å). The cartridges are designed for extraction of anionic analytes in aqueous and non-aqueous solutions. The large pore size makes it ideal for isolation of larger molecules such as anionic proteins such as immunoglobulins and enzymes. Other applications include isolation of phenolic compounds and removal of acidic pigments in wine, fruit juices, and food extracts. These syringe-barrel-type cartridges are designed for use with vacuum manifolds and automated SPE instruments.

Sep-Pak Amino Propyl (NH2) Vac cartridges contain a moderately polar, silica-based bonded phase with weakly basic surface. The sorbent can be used as a polar sorbent with different selectivity for acidic/basic analytes or as a weak anion exchanges in aqueous medium below pH 8. Applications include extraction of phenols and phenolic pigments, petroleum fractionation, saccharides and drugs and metabolites. The cartridges are designed for extraction of anionic analytes in aqueous and non-aqueous solutions. The large pore size makes it ideal for isolation of larger molecules such as anionic proteins such as immunoglobulins and enzymes. Other applications include isolation of phenolic compounds and removal of acidic pigments in wine, fruit juices, and food extracts. These cartridges feature an integral 20 cc funnel-shaped reservoir for convenient processing of larger volumes of samples. They can be used with robotic sample preparation equipment or with vacuum manifolds.
