RP-2 dimethyl-modified Silica Gel 60 - fluorescent indicator (UV 254) - Glass-backed - 250 µm thickness - 20x20 cm - 25 plates per box This TLC plate can be developed using purely organic, organic/aqueous, and purely aqueous mobile phases. Due to this these plates have been used in numerous applications in normal phase chromatography as well as reversed phase chromatography. Common applications include the analysis of active plant constituents and steroids.
Miles Scientific SILICA GEL W/AGNO3 250UM 20X20CM (25 PLATES/BOX)
These silver nitrate impregnated silica gel plates are for argentation chromatography. They are impregnated with between 5% and 20% silver nitrate which modifies the separation characteristics of the adsorbent layer to permit increased discrimination of certain compounds, particularly those containing carbon-carbon double bonds. They are available with or without a fluorescent indicator. NOTE: The concentration of silver nitrate (5, 10, 15, or 20%) must be specified at the time of order. The most common concentration is 10%.

Reversed Phase Octadecyl Silanized Silica Gel. These reversed phase TLC plates have been manufacturer to be greater than 50% and less than 100% silanized. Because of this they are hydrophobic, but wettable (unlike CAT# 164077 & 165077 which are 100% silanized). Alumina Neutral (pH 6-8) with UV254, analytical, polyester backed TLC plates. The coating thickness is 200um and dimensions are 4x8cm. There are 50 plates per pack. Applications include: terpenes, alkaloids, steroids, aliphatic and aromatic compounds. To ensure sufficient adherence an inert organic binder is added to the aqueous suspension for coating. The aluminum oxide layer has a specific surface of about 200 m2/g (BET) and a pore size of about 60A. To activate the aluminum oxide layer, we recommend heating the TLC plates for 10 minutes at 120C.

This thin layer chromatography (TLC) plate comprises a C18-W (Wettable) Silica layer. It can be used in both normal phase or reversed phase separations with eluents from anhydrous solvents to mixtures with high concentrations of water. The relative polarity of the eluent determines the polarity of the layer. The Silica 60 has a surface area of 500 m2/g, mean pore size of 60A, specific pore volume of 0.75 ml/g, particle size of 2-10um, and pH stability of 2-10. The TLC plates contain UV254 fluorescent indicator. The UV-absorbing substances appear as dark-blue to black spots on a light - blue background. This analytical layer is bound to a glass support. It has a thickness of 250um and dimensions of 20x20cm. There are 25 plates per pack. Cellulose 300 polyester backed TLC plates. The coating thickness is 100um and dimensions are 5x20cm. There are 50 plates per pack. Applications include: partition chromatography of polar substances such as amino acids, carboxylic acids or carbohydrates. Cellulose is especially used for partition chromatographic separations of polar substances such as amino acids and other carboxylic acids or carbohydrates. Compared to paper chromatography (PC) thin layer chromatography, cellulose offers shorter migration times and more concentrated substance spots resulting in a higher detection sensitivity. TLC plates (CEL 300) are coated with native, fibrous cellulose.

Cellulose 400 (microcrystalline cellulose AVICEL) with UV254, glass backed TLC plates. The coating thickness is 100um and dimensions are 20x20cm. There are 25 plates per pack. Applications include: carboxylic acids, lower alcohols, urea and purine derivatives. Cellulose 400 TLC Plates are coated with microcrystalline cellulose AVICEL. This type of cellulose is prepared by hydrolysis of high purity cellulose with hydrochloric acid. Depending on the starting cellulose and the following clean-up, one obtains cellulose crystallites with a mean degree of polymerization between 40 and 200. The microcrystalline structure of this cellulose can be confirmed by X-ray investigations.
