ACQUITY UPLC HSS C18 chemistry is an ultra-performance general purpose C18 bonded phase that provides superior peak shape for bases, increased retention (vs. ACQUITY UPLC BEH C18 columns), and extremely long column lifetimes at low pH. ACQUITY HSS C18 columns are fully scalable and transferable to HPLC separations. The VanGuard pre-column connects directly to the inlet of the ACQUITY UPLC column which minimizes extra columns volumes and reduces leaking by eliminating additional connections.

Proteomix ion-exchange phases have been innovatively developed for achieving high ion-exchange capacity, a breakthrough technology for non-porous resins. Proteomix packing support is composed of a rigid, spherical, highly cross-linked poly(styrene divinylbenzene) (PS/DVB) non-porous bead with particle size selections of 1.7, 3, 5 and 10 µm. The PS/DVB resin surface is grafted with a highly hydrophilic, neutral polymer thin layer with the thickness in the range of nanometer. The hydrophobic PS/DVB resin surface is totally covered by a hydrophilic coating that eliminates non-specific bindings with biological analytes, leading to high efficiency and high recovery separations for biological molecules.

XBridge BEH Shield RP18 columns complement the XBridge BEH C18 and C8 phases and provide a necessary and powerful tool for HPLC method development. The embedded carbamate group in the bonded phase ligand provides alternate selectivity, especially for phenolic compounds compared to straight chain alkyl columns.

SunFire C8 columns are used for general purpose method development at low pH. The C8 ligand is preferred for some assays because it is less hydrophobic and therefore less retentive compared to SunFire C18.

Along with the widest pore size selection of 100, 150, 300, 500, 750, 1000 and 2000Å, SRT SEC packings have highest capacity that enables highest resolution.

Atlantis HILIC Silica columns are used in combination with high organic mobile phases (>80% acetonitrile) to provide retention of analytes that are simply too polar to be retained by reverse-phase chromatography.
