Ryder Needle Holders are a surgical instrument for grasping and releasing needles during suturing. These needle holders are equipped with a ratchet lock for a secure grip on the needle, preventing slippage or accidental release during surgery. This lock lets you maintain a firm hold on the needle until you intentionally release it. The ring handles give you a comfortable and secure hold. The tips are narrow and rounded with serrated tungsten carbide inserts in the jaws. Tungsten carbide is a durable material that enhances the gripping strength of the needle holder and reduces wear on the instrument. These inserts provide a reliable grip on the needle and improve the longevity of the surgical instrument. Ryder Needle Holders were designed by William Ryder, a British orthopedic surgeon, in the 1960s.
