LabExact Grade VSS glass microfiber filters are a binder‑free material manufactured using a proprietary glass chemistry that permits use in high‑temperature applications beyond typical borosilicate glass blends. This grade is ideally suited for the determination of fixed and volatile solids ignited at 550°C in accordance with Method 2540E. The material exhibits low fiber shedding to ensure quality assurance of test results and a low percentage of weight loss during gravimetric testing. Grade VSS has a particle retention of 1.5µm and high loading capacity, attributed to its high surface area and complex pore structure. The material complies with the requirements of Standard Methods 2540C and 2540D and EPA Method 160.2 for the determination of suspended solids in water quality testing, and is also used in air pollution monitoring, high‑temperature flue gas sampling, and filtration of high‑temperature solvents.

The binderless microfiber structure allows use at temperatures up to 550°C. 934‑AH filters are produced from 100% borosilicate glass microfiber without binders or strengthening agents. As a depth filtration medium, particulate is captured throughout the thickness of the filter within a complex matrix of overlapping fibers.
