Microcentrifuges
Compact footprint centrifuges used for small sample sizes, such as microtubes. Ideal for microfilter cell separations and HPLC samples. Available as electronic or handheld manual units; may have digital interfaces and refrigeration capabilities.
Microcentrifuges are specifically designed to accommodate tubes that hold less than 5.0 mL. Although benchtop centrifuges can be fitted with rotors for microtubes, microcentrifuges usually have a smaller footprint, which makes for a less-crowded work area.
As with other benchtop centrifuges, these units can be ventilated (operated without temperature controls) or refrigerated. Most are sold with a rotor, although additional alternate rotors may be available.

A New Line of Mini Microcentrifuges The new mini micro-centrifuges will replace the current Spectrafuge™ Mini Centrifuges. Simple and convenient to operate, the new mini microcentrifuges feature greater capacity (8 place MCT and 4 place PCR strip rotors), a quick-release rotor system and electronic brake. Once samples area loaded and the lid is closed, the rotor rapidly accelerates to 6,000 rpm, making it an ideal centrifuge for bringing small droplets to the bottom of tubes for micro-filtrations or basic separations. An increased capacity, eight-position microtube rotor is included and comes installed. Also included is a second rotor for 0.2 mL PCR tubes and strips which is stored (together with the rotor removal key) in a convenient compartment on the bottom of the centrifuge.
