Microscope Accessories and Replacement Parts
General accessories and parts for use with microscopes. Products include lens oil, lens cleaner, slide dispensers, microscope covers, vessel holders, light cubes, and flow cells.
Many parts of your microscope can be updated or replaced including microscope lamps, lenses, and eyepieces. Replacement lamps, light sources, and power cords can extend the working lives of your microscopy equipment. New or replacement objectives and lenses can help increase the total magnification available with your microscope.
Add greater magnification or exchange your eyepiece for one with a reticule to more easily estimate the sizes of the items being viewed.
Replace or update your mechanical stage or clamps or add cell culture vessel adapters to facilitate specimen positioning.
Condensers can also be replaced, and conversion kits are available to add phase contrast, polarization, fluorescence, or other capabilities to your current system.
Some microscopes can be adapted for use with still or video cameras. Look for cameras and adapters designed for your specific microscope brand. Film and documentation-related products may also be available to support your record-keeping.
Temporary, semi-permanent, and more long-term slide storage options include:
- Slide racks that securely hold slides during staining procedures
- Folding fiberboard or plastic slide holders with horizontal indentations that keep microscope slides in place
- Slide storage boxes with vertical dividers; made from fiberboard, plastic, and wood and available in multiple sizes
- Slide holders and mailers for transporting slides safely
- Slide storage systems and cabinets for large quantities of slides or archival storage
Electron Microscopy Sciences Quantifoil Holey Carbon Film R 1.2/1.3 on Copper 300 mesh Grid
QUANTIFOIL is a perforated support foil with pre-defined hole size, shape and arrangement. It has advantages in electron microscopy (EM) or low-energy electron point source (LEEPS) microscopy when compared with conventional holey film.
QUANTIFOIL with circular holes is used in cryo-electron tomographic reconstruction. The roundness of the holes is advantageous with respect to the formation of an ice layer of constant thickness. The whole size chosen depends on the magnification used, and on whether or not one wishes to include support film in the image. Assessment of the image quality is easier when foil is included in the picture, because the power spectrum of a foil is stronger than that of unsupported ice.

Electron Microscopy Sciences Formvar/Carbon Film 5-6 nm/1 nm thick on Square 300 mesh Copper Grid
A formvar coated grid, stabilized with evaporated carbon film. This type of coating is excellent for specimen support, especially for ultra thin sections. All of our coated grids are optically checked followed by batch testing in the EM. Packed in grid storage box. NOTE: All of our film is laid on the shiny side of the grid. Formvar is 5-6 nm thick with a 1 nm carbon coating.

Electron Microscopy Sciences NIGHTSEA™ Eclipse MicroTent
The Eclipse MicroTent provides local darkness around conventional laboratory stereo microscopes that are using a fluorescence adapter. Fluorescence can be weak and can be difficult to see well if there is ambient light. The tent is ideal for sheilding microscopes on lab benches in shared spaces, near windows, or in other difficult-to-darken locations such as in the field. Easy access to the sample stage and the focus and zoom controls is maintained. It is designed for stereo microscopes but could potentially be used with many varieties of compound microscopes.

Cole-Parmer Meiji Techno MA285 Microscope Stage Micrometer, 1 mm/0.01 mm scale
Use these micrometers to make quick and accurate measurements of your specimen. Eyepiece reticles are available with a crosshair scale or a 10 mm scale in 0.1 mm divisions; stage micrometers are available with a 1 mm scale in 0.01 mm divisions or with a 0.04" scale in 0.001" divisions. Use stage micrometers with any microscope.
