MOLTOX Molecular Toxicology Inc Fluid Thioglycolate Medium, 200 mL/bottle, Store at Room Temperature
Fluid Thioglycollate Medium (FTM) contains a small amount of agar and several reducing agents which detects the presence of anaerobic bacteria in sterility testing. This medium is recommended by the FDA and in the USP for use in sterility confirmation. Strict aerobes tend to grow at the surface whereas obligate anaerobes grow below the upper oxidized layer portion of the broth. Each lot of media from MOLTOX is tested for sterility, where applicable, and its ability to support the growth of the appropriate microorganism. All media are accompanied by GLP-compliant formulation and Quality Control certificate.
MOLTOX Molecular Toxicology Inc Potato Dextrose Agar, 10 plates/sleeve, Store at Room Temperature
This media is used for the cultivation and enumeration of yeasts and molds. Potato Dextrose Agar is also used for the maintenance of stock cultures of certain dermatophytes and for the differentiation of varieties of dermatophytes via pigment production. Each lot of media from MOLTOX is tested for sterility, where applicable, and its ability to support the growth of the appropriate microorganism. All media are accompanied by GLP-compliant formulation and Quality Control certificate.
MOLTOX Molecular Toxicology Inc Tryptic Soy Agar, 20 mL/plate, 10 plates/sleeve, Store at Room Temperature
Also known as TSA or Trypticase Soy Agar, Tryptic Soy Agar is used for the isolation and cultivation of fastidious and nonfastidious microorganisms. This medium can be used for a wide variety of purposes including maintenance of stock cultures, plate counts and microorganism isolation of a range of specimens. It is also used for testing bacterial contaminants in cosmetics. The addition of blood can be used for the visualization of hemolytic reactions produced by various bacterial species. The addition of Tween 80 (Polysorbate 80) and/or Lecithin, is used for environmental monitoring as they inactivate disinfectant residue. Whether you need a general-purpose, nonselective media or you need added blood to facilitate a more fasitdious bacterial lawn for the detection of hemolytic reactions, we have several products to choose from. Chopped Meat Med. w/ Glucose (CMG) will support the growth of most anaerobes. CM may also be used as a maintaining or holding media for stock cultures. This media is prepared, dispensed, & packaged under oxygen-free conditions to prevent the formation of oxidized products prior to use.CM is an enriched non-selective media that is useful as a holding media for stock & mixed cultures, sporulation, proteolysis, & toxin prod. by certain Clostridia spp. such as C. novyi, Type A. This Med. is used for preservation of clostridial cultures by freezing. CM has the capacity to initiate growth from a minute inoculum & maintain viability of organisms over extended periods. This media allow slower growing organisms, within a mixed sample, to proliferate in the presence of rapid reproducing organisms & are used to demonstrate clostridial toxin prod., sporulation, & short chain organic acid prod. by gas chromatography.
