Recombinant adeno associated virus expressing Cre fused to mCherry under the D1 promoter with WPRE and hGH polyA elements. The Cre and Flp logic configuration enables expression only after recombination, providing precise targeted control of targeted neurons. Protein tags are peptide sequences genetically grafted onto a recombinant protein. Often these tags are removable by chemical agents or by enzymatic means, such as proteolysis or intein splicing. Tags are attached to proteins for various purposes.Epitope tags are short peptide sequences which are chosen because high-affinity antibodies can be reliably produced in many different species. These are usually derived from viral genes, which explain their high immunoreactivity. Epitope tags include V5-tag, Myc-tag, HA-tag and NE-tag. These tags are particularly useful for western blotting, immunofluorescence and immunoprecipitation experiments, although they also find use in antibody purification.

pUC19 is a commonly used cloning vector that conveys the Amp resistance. The molecule is a small double-stranded circle, 2686 base pairs in length, and has a high copy number. pUC19 carries a 54 base-pair multiple cloning site polylinker that contains unique sites for 13 different hexanucleotide-specific restriction endonucleases.
New England Biolabs, Inc. Lambda DNA (dam-) – 250 µg
Duplex DNA is isolated from bacteriophage lambda (cI857ind 1 Sam 7). The bacteriophage is grown in an E. coli host which is deficient in adenine methylase (dam-). Therefore, those deoxyadenosine positions which are methylated in a wild type E. coli host are not methylated in the dam- host. This DNA gives complete digests with restriction endonucleases that are sensitive to dam methylation. Lambda DNA (dam-) is 48,502 base pairs in length.
