It is a live cell membrane-impermeable dye. For CyTOF2 and Helios™ instruments we recommend using Cell-ID Intercalator-Ir (201192B) for nucleated cell discrimination and Cisplatin-194 (201194) or -198 (201198) for dead cell discrimination.
