Biotium Golgi Complex(AE-6), CF568 conjugate, 0.1mg/mL
This MAb recognizes an antigen associated with the Golgi complex in human cells only. It can be used to stain the Golgi complex in cell or tissue preparations and can be used as a Golgi marker in subcellular fractions. It produces a diffuse staining pattern of the Golgi zone in normal and malignant cells. This MAb is an excellent marker for human cells in xenographic model research. It reacts specifically with human cells. The Golgi apparatus is an organelle present in all eukaryotic cells that forms a part of the endomembrane system. The primary function of the Golgi apparatus is to process and package macromolecules synthesized by the cell for exocytosis or use within the cell. Bcl-x belongs to the Bcl-2 family of proteins and plays a crucial role in apoptosis. Bcl-X has two isoforms: Bcl-XL (long), a 26 kDa protein which suppresses cell death, and Bcl-XS (short), a 178 amino acid protein lacking a 63 amino acid domain which functions as a dominant inhibitor of Bcl-2 and promotes apoptosis. The mouse monoclonal antibody recognizes CD1b, a 44 kDa type I glycoprotein associated with beta2-microglobulin. It is expressed on dendritic cells, Langerhans cells, thymocytes, and T acute lymphoblastic leukemia cells. The CD1 multigene family encodes five forms of the CD1 T-cell surface glycoprotein in human, designated CD1A, 1B, 1C, 1D and 1E. CD1, a type 1 membrane protein, has structural similarity to the MHC class I antigen and has been shown to present lipid antigens for recognition by T lymphocytes. Constitutive endocytosis of CD1B molecules and the differential sorting of MHC class II from lysosomes separate peptide- and lipid antigen-presenting molecules during dendritic cell maturation. Recognizes a protein of 55 kDa, which is identified as fascin-1. Its actin binding ability is regulated by phosphorylation. Antibody to fascin-1 is a very sensitive marker for Reed-Sternberg cells and variants in nodular sclerosis, mixed cellularity, and lymphocyte depletion Hodgkin's disease. It is uniformly negative in lymphoid cells, plasma cells, and myeloid cells. Fascin-1 is also expressed in dendritic cells. This marker may be helpful to distinguish between Hodgkin lymphoma and non-Hodgkin lymphoma in difficult cases. Recognizes a protein of 33-55 kDa, identified as CD53 (Workshop VI; Code N-L033). It is expressed on monocytes and macrophages, dendritic cells, osteoblasts and osteoclasts, and on T and B cells from every stage of differentiation but is absent from platelets, red blood cells. CD53 appears to be the marker with widest reactivity as well as the marker with the strictest specificity to hematopoietic cells. CD53 is a type III membrane with both termini in the cytoplasm and two loops in the extracellular environment. It is the critical T-cell co-stimulatory receptor which provides to the cell the important second activation signal by binding CD80 and CD86 that are expressed by antigen presenting cells. MDM2 is a nuclear phosphoprotein that binds and inhibits transactivation by tumor protein p53. It can promote tumor formation by targeting tumor suppressor proteins, such as p53, for proteasomal degradation. Overexpression of MDM2 can result in excessive inactivation of tumor protein p53, diminishing its tumor suppressor function. This protein also affects the cell cycle, apoptosis, and tumorigenesis through interactions with other proteins, including retinoblastoma 1 and ribosomal protein L5. Recognizes a protein of 210-220 kDa, which is identified as the complement receptor 1 (CR1)/CD35. This MAb is specific for a site in CR1 that is distal from the C3b-binding site, so that it is unable to block CR1 activity. This MAb is highly specific to CR1 and shows no cross-reaction with CR2. The primary function of CR1 is to serve as the cellular receptor for C3b and C4b, the most important components of the complement system leading to clearance of foreign macromolecules.
