DOTAP Chloride (N-[1-(2,3-Dioleoyloxy)propyl]-N,N,N-trimethylammonium chloride) is a cationic lipid widely used for in vitro and in vivo delivery of DNA, RNA, and other negatively charged molecules. DOTAP encapsulates the nucleic acids to form a stable complex spontaneously by means of electrostatic interaction. It can also be used to form lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) for mRNA vaccine delivery and unilamellar liposomes for gene delivery. This product is for research use only.Key Application(s): Gene delivery, mRNA delivery
