Substance P(1-7) TFA is a fragment of the neuropeptide, substance P (SP). It gives depressor and bradycardic effects when applied to the nucleus tractus solitarius. In vivo, it acts as a potent antagonist against SP-induced responses and is proposed as an endogenous modulator of SP actions. Injection of low doses can reduce aversive behaviors induced by SP or SP(5-11).
