Sabouraud Dextrose Broth with Penicillin G (SDB-P) is a selective broth used in qualitative procedures for the cultivation of fungi. Emmons modified the formulation of Sabouraud by reducing the amount of dextrose from 40g/L to 20g/L and removing agar. This product is also referred to as Sabouraud Dextrose Broth 2%, due to the reduced dextrose content. Reference the appropriate standard method for additional details on test instructions.
