EC (Escherichia coli) Medium with MUG is a selective and differential broth utilized for the fluorogenic detection of Escherichia coli. Feng and Hartman developed a rapid assay for E. coli by incorporating 4-methylumbelliferyl-β-D-glucuronide (MUG) into Lauryl Tryptose Broth at a final concentration of 100µg/mL. Moburg determined the amount of MUG could be reduced to a final concentration of 50µg/mL without adversely affecting results. • Product meets APHA, BAM, EPA, ISO, and SMWW reference methods and performance criteria.• EC MUG should be used by trained professionals within a laboratory setting. • Product is not intended for use in the diagnosis or treatment of disease or other human conditions.
