Fluid Thioglycollate Medium (FTM) with Indicator is a general purpose medium recommended for sterility testing and for the cultivation of anaerobes, aerobes, and microaerophiles. Casein and yeast extract provide nitrogen, essential vitamins, and amino acids. Glucose provides a carbon source, sodium chloride maintains osmotic balance, and L-cystine and sodium thioglycollate act as reducing agents. This is supported by a low amount of agar, which reduces the oxygen permeability through the medium. Resazurin is an oxidation indicator. Sodium thioglycollate inactivates mercurial compounds present in samples.• Product meets AOAC, APHA, BAM, CLSI, Harmonized USP/EP/JP, and ISO reference methods and performance criteria.• FTM should be used by trained professionals within a laboratory setting. • For in vitro diagnostic (IVD) use.• Product is not intended for use in the diagnosis or treatment of disease or other human conditions.
