Tetrathionate (TT) Broth Base is a selective enrichment medium used with an iodine-iodide solution for the cultivation of Salmonella spp. from clinical specimens, foods, and other materials of sanitary importance. Mueller demonstrated the effectiveness of Tetrathionate Broth for enriching typhoid and paratyphoid bacilli while inhibiting coliform organisms. Kauffmann increased the number of positive isolates by modifying Mueller's broth.• Product meets AOAC, BAM, CLSI, EP, SM-Dairy, SMWW, and USP-NF performance criteria.• Tetrathionate Broth should be used by trained professionals within a laboratory setting. • Product is not intended for use in the diagnosis or treatment of disease or other human conditions.
