Tryptic Soy Broth with 15% Glycerol is a liquid medium utilized for long-term frozen maintenance of bacteria. This medium is considered a cryopreservative or freezing solution as is recommended in the Clinical Microbiology Procedures Handbook and the Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) for the maintenance of stock cultures. When inoculated into this medium and frozen at or below -40°C, bacterial suspensions remain viable.
