10X Tris-buffered Saline (TBS) with 10% Tween 20 is used as a common Western blot wash solution and general wash buffer in immunoassay applications. Tween 20, a non-ionic detergent, reduces non-specific binding and protein-protein interaction during the wash step in immunoassay procedures. This formulation of TBST has a higher concentration of Tween 20 and provides a more stringent wash than standard TBST formulations.
