Supplier: S2 Media 5132
Bile Esculin Agar (BEA) is a selective and differential medium utilized for the isolation of enterococci and group D streptococci, including Streptococcus bovis, from non-group D streptococci. Facklam and Moody demonstrated in 1970 that using a bile esculin test was a reliable way of identifying group D streptococci. When using BEA, they determined that all group D streptococci blacken this medium. Other studies have been completed using BEA for the presumptive identification of Enterobacter spp., Klebsiella spp., and Serratia spp.• Product meets ASM, CLSI and USP-NF reference methods and performance criteria.• BEA should be used by trained professionals within a laboratory setting. • For in vitro diagnostic (IVD) use.• Product is not intended for use in the diagnosis or treatment of disease or other human conditions.
